Tamar Apelian, RDN

Registered Dietitian Nutritionist

Tamar Apelian is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with a background in various settings, including medical nutrition therapy in acute care, clinical nutrition management, and as a health educator for individuals and groups in outpatient settings. She obtained her BS degree in Dietetics at California State University Los Angeles. She worked in the field of clinical nutrition in the hospital setting, with a diverse group of inpatients and outpatients. In her role as a clinical nutrition manager, she realized that she preferred to work with clients rather than manage from a desk. After recently obtaining her Health Coach Certification through the American Council of Exercise, she realized how important it is to coach clients from where they stand as individuals, while sharing knowledge and information to enrich their lives. Through her own health journey, she has seen that wellness is more important than a number on a scale; the mind-body connection is equally important. When we are happy, we feel good and take better care of ourselves. Self care integrating nutrition, exercise, yoga and healthy relationships help the whole person. Tamar’s core passion is a desire to help others and empower them to make well-informed choices about their lifestyles. When not helping others, she loves to tend to her succulents, make jewelry, dance and practice yoga. She is excited to work with Bamboo Nutrition as she embraces the same philosophies of how the mind, body and food play a role in our wellness.

Sarah Kim, MS, RDN, LDN

Registered Dietitian Nutritionist

Sarah Kim is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with a background in sports nutrition. Her passion for nutrition and wellness began during her time as a competitive tennis athlete. She remembers spending hours of her day coaching, practicing, and competing - as a busy student athlete, it wasn't always easy to remember what or when to eat to properly nourish an active body. Naturally, she pursued an education in nutrition, first at Case Western Reserve University, and then went on to complete her dietetic internship and graduate studies at Loyola University Chicago. Sarah initially spent a few years in the clinical setting, while simultaneously working with prestigious restaurants in Chicago, but it wasn't long before she circled back to her working with athletes. Prior to joining the team at Bamboo, she spent time working with athletes at Texas Christian University and Northwestern University. She is an active member of My Sports Dietitian and CPSDA. From her experience working with athletes and being a prior athlete herself, Sarah understands how difficult it can be for some individuals to have a positive relationship with food, whether that's during active seasons, or not. Her passions are rooted in helping athletes and non-athletes overcome body image issues and developing positive relationships with food and physical activity. From her diverse background, Sarah is experienced in individual and group counseling, and enjoys making authentic connections with the people and community around her. She is excited to be a part of Bamboo Nutrition.
